Here is a link to see an interview via Stephen Colbert and Karim Sadjadpour describing an Iranian math superstar Mahmoud Vahidnia’s unprecedented act of challenging Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini. It is significant because it took place in 2009 after the Green Revolution that challenged the government and demanded more rights from the people.

“Stuxnet” and “Stars”

Here is a link to a news article talking about the “Stuxnet” and “Stars” viruses that, unwittingly to the Iranian government, sabotaged their nuclear machinery for years up until April 2011 when they discovered them. The article mentions that the effects of the viruses are still being dealt with and posing major problems.

Prism also focuses their research on sources written in Arabic. Prism was founded in 2002 and since then has been focusing on conducting their research and being recognized by scholars around the world.

What’s going on, Lebanon?

Ask the Ikhwan!

There are two sides to every Islamic movement. There are those who seem more liberal, and those who seem more extreme. Here’s a name we seem to be hearing more and more within the media: Ikhwan al Muslimeen, meaning “The Islamic Brotherhood.” If you’d like to know what they’re really about, all you have to do is check out their pre approved website, Ikhwan Scope! 

A more interesting article might be the case study about Islamic Movements in Egypt. The Ikhwan has become a political party that seems to be gaining rise within Egpytian politics. Here is their view on Islam and Islamic Reformists in Egypt.
